Michael THOENNES

Michael W. Thoennes, Jr. received a BFA in photography from The University of Florida in 1989 during the tenure of Jerry Uelsmann. Thoennes continued studies under other professional photographers until 1995. Since then he has worked as an advertising photographer based in Miami, Florida. His clients include; American Express, DHL Worldwide, Couples Resort, Ford Motor Company, Hewlett Packard, Molson Canadian Beer, SC Johnson, Sprint, and US Postal Service among others.

Michael is passionate about the human experience and describes his vision using photographic processes. Recent technology has allowed Thoennes to “capture the tempoary and make it more permanent, to record human activity in an attempt to study the relation of man to spirit”.

In addition to exhibiting with F 8, Thoennes currently has a large installation hanging on loan to British Airways Miami. Simutaneously, at his studio in Miami’s Design District, Michael Thoennes is presenting an exhibition examining the deadly aspects and long term affects of war in, “War Kills”.
